Karmin (amy & nick) have been busy at work. this time they cover lil wayne's 6 foot 7 foot and gave it a good makeover.  if you were a fan of their rendition of "look at me now" you'll instantly love this video.  its amazing how she is able to do it so smoothly without stumbling in each of the song covers.  mad props!  lots to love about the song. love the piano. love the reddit alien. and of course.......love ms. amy!

Rough Weekend

participated in Great Urban Race over the weekend. pretty enjoyable experience. costumes always make an event more fun (more pictures to come)!  ran all around houston trying to solve clues and complete tasks, while at the same time, exploring parts of the city i'd never knew existed. all of this done on foot or by public transportation.  after all the sweat, tears, cupcakes, and walking, we ended up calling it quits due to time constraints and exhaustion.  would i do this again in the future? probably not.  not because we didn't finish and not because it was too hard or tough. in fact,  i felt like it wasn't challenging enough at some points.  it just didn't feel enough like a race to me. but all in all. i had fun.

Happy Belated Birthday to my roommie christina!  she had a house party after great urban race.  lots of alcohol and lots of fun!  ........   until the morning after....... spent the entire next day recovering. woke up without bedsheets on the bed and the floors downstairs were nice and sticky. also found out we had a thief in our midst at the party stealing from all the girls purses that were put in the downstairs bedroom! i should make a scumbag steve meme for this guy! people like that need to go somewhere and kill themselves. seriously.

Camping

i miss the outdoors already.  was lucky enough to camp out in the "wilderness" a couple times already this year.  quite the experience every time.  you can learn a lot about yourself and about others and how they handle life. what do they take? what do they do? some people charge out into the darkness with a dim light, ill-prepared, and believing nothing can hurt them (accurately describes myself for the most part).  some ppl accept their limits, and enjoy what is in front of them. others make observations about their surroundings, prepare, and pack accordingly.    


i love being able to appreciate the beauty of the moment out there.  to take it all in.  to watch the flicker of the campfire. to feel serenity. to feel fear. to feel alive. 


i've also come to the conclusion that knowing concepts for survival is crucial.  disaster could strike at any moment and being prepared seems essential.  seeing things happen all over the world: earthquakes, tsunamis, governments, zombie apocalypse, etc.........these things could bend us over at any moment and ram it to us good.  but i digress......
